Welcome to the Bound by Veterans project home page.

Bound by Veterans (also known as The Wiltshire Barn Project) is a social enterprise charity for Veterans of all three Services. It uses the therapeutic qualities of craft bookbinding to assist casualty rehabilitation and to develop employment opportunities.  The Project is a registered charity and is based in the Daffodil Barn, Woodborough, near Pewsey, Wiltshire.

What We Do

Bound by Veterans supports Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) Veterans. It is based in a delightful thatched barn just outside Pewsey, Wiltshire, in an attractive rural setting, and shares the Barn with a very active bookbinding workshop run by a well-established London craft bookbinding firm (Shepherds Ltd). The Project is sponsored by the Stationers Foundation, a trust managed by the Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers.

The project offers City & Guilds instruction on Level 1 and Level 2 courses in craft bookbinding. Each course will lead to an award, and successful completion of the two Levels leads to a nationally recognised City & Guilds certificate.

Social Enterprise

Veterans training with the project are able to practise their skills by manufacturing luxury notebooks and stationery items for retail. All profits from the sale of these items go directly to the charity to sustain further training.
